Tile trackers offer a similar feature, but you have to enable it in the app settings. Samsung’s SmartTag 2 doesn’t have a separation alert feature, though we could see it being added in the future. In our testing, Chipolo’s separation alerts worked as expected, notifying us when we left our tagged items behind, whether at a friend’s house or in the car.
Other handy features
Most Bluetooth trackers offer other useful features beyond just locating lost items. Chipolo’s classic trackers can double as a remote shutter for taking selfies or group photos from a distance. Tile trackers can also help you find your phone by double-pressing the device’s button, even if your phone is on silent. AirTags have a Precision Finding feature that uses the U1 chip in newer iPhones to guide you to your lost item with AR-like precision. Samsung’s SmartTag 2 has a remote control feature that lets you trigger your phone’s camera or other compatible devices.
Other handy features to look for include a replaceable battery, water resistance, and a loud alarm for finding items in the dark. While all of the trackers we tested had some of these features, Chipolo’s classic trackers stood out for offering the most versatile set of features in a single device. Tile’s trackers were a close second, with a variety of features and a large network of users, but they weren’t as reliable in finding lost items as we would have liked.
The best Bluetooth tracker for you
After testing out various Bluetooth trackers, we found that Chipolo’s classic trackers are the best option for most people. With compatibility across both Android and Apple devices, a solid finding network, separation alerts, and a variety of other handy features, Chipolo’s trackers offer the best combination of utility and convenience. While other trackers like AirTags and Tile are also great options, Chipolo’s classic trackers outperformed in our tests and provided the most reliable experience overall.
Whether you’re prone to losing your keys, wallet, or other important items, a Bluetooth tracker can make a world of difference in keeping track of your belongings. With so many options on the market, it’s important to consider factors like device compatibility, finding network size, separation alerts, and other handy features to find the best Bluetooth tracker for your needs.
