GEORGE TOWN – Perdana Menteri Anwar Ibrahim Allocates RM250,000 for Entrepreneurship and Digital Training for Youth
Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced today that the government has approved an initial allocation of RM250,000 for entrepreneurship and digital training for the youth of Liga Muslim Pulau Pinang. This allocation aims to ensure that all government-provided opportunities are fully utilized to bridge the digital gap between the wealthy elite and the general public.
Anwar, who is also the Minister of Finance, stated that the allocation can be coordinated with the relevant ministries and departments to provide early training and exposure to the youth. He emphasized the importance of strengthening the workforce with a focus on entrepreneurship training and called on Liga Muslim to play an active role in education, culture, history, and entrepreneurship, especially in the current digital era.
In addition, Anwar urged the youth in the country to sharpen their skills through training and exposure in entrepreneurship, engineering, digital, and artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure that the country has an adequate pool of experts, in line with Pulau Pinang’s status as a leading semiconductor hub in the region.
Addressing the requests from Indian Muslim citizens born in the country for Bumiputera status, Anwar mentioned that the Ministry of Home Affairs and his minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, would review and address the matter based on individual applications.
The President of Liga Muslim Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najmudeen Kader, appealed to the government to address the issue following several complaints from the Indian Muslim community in the country.
