Deadly Duo: Unleashing the Sinister Secrets of Nosferatu – Tal para cual

Se entiende el interés de Robert Eggers en hacer un remake de ‘Nosferatu’, una adaptación "no autorizada y no oficial" del ‘Drácula’ de Bram Stoker. Son tal para cual. Y como era de suponer, esperar o exigir el resultado es toda una experiencia… también a nivel cinematográfico, como bien lo puede ser el film original de 1922; como bien lo pueden ser ‘La bruja’ o ‘El faro’ del propio Eggers, un cineasta contemporáneo comprometido con el pasado.

Un cineasta con un ojo exquisito en lo visual y en lo ornamental, siendo su ‘Nosferatu’ un auténtico festín para los sentidos que posee la misma capacidad que el propio Orlok para, delante de una gran pantalla de cine y atrapados en nuestras respectivas cabezas, hacernos suyos. Un sombrío y pesadillesco cuento de hadas psicosexual envuelto en una densa y poética retórica macabra que resulta tan hipnótico y fascinante como amenazante y lúgubre.

También algo viciado e impostado, pues no deja de ser un remake, no deja de ser "Drácula"; no deja de ser una historia de sobra conocida relatada de una manera tan exquisita… como familiar. Por más que al igual que por ejemplo los de ‘Déjame entrar’ o ‘Millennium’, se trate de un remake en líneas generales narrativa, técnica e incluso espiritualmente muy superior; no en vano, han pasado más de 100 años desde el ‘Nosferatu’ original.

Este OTRO remake no deja de ser una elaborada, respetuosa y fiel carta de amor al original, así como un reverencial homenaje al terror primigenio. Por más que al igual que el dirigido en 2011 por David Fincher sea un estupendo remake… o una nueva adaptación con una marcadísima personalidad que se sobrepone, e impone a su original. Claro que Fincher no tenía enfrente (ni tampoco Matt Reeves) un clásico de 100 años de edad (leyenda e influencia).

Se respeta el interés de Robert Eggers en hacer un remake de ‘Nosferatu’, una adaptación "no autorizada y no oficial" del ‘Drácula’… de Francis Ford Coppola.

Su versión es una notable y apabullante aproximación a una relato operístico y críptico, folclórico y onírico, gótico y romántico que se siente "casi" nuevo. Este casi es lo que empaña un poco el por otro lado rotundo conjunto, y provoca además que termine cansando un poco al final. Y es que no deja de ser como si lo nuevo de tu grupo favorito, tras años de espera, fuera un disco de versiones de sus clásicos que llevas toda la vida escuchando.
