Cinéfête: A French School Film Festival Touring Germany
The French school film festival, Cinéfête, has been touring Germany since September, captivating audiences with a diverse selection of French cinema. Today, as part of the French Film Week in Berlin, the festival was officially inaugurated.
Over the past two years, Cinéfête has expanded its reach across Germany, attracting new participating cinemas and a growing number of students. In the 23/24 season, nearly 85,000 visitors attended the festival in 96 cinemas. For the upcoming 24/25 season, 71 cinemas have already registered to be part of the event. The Cinéfête is organized by the AG Kino – Gilde in collaboration with the French Institute in Germany. Managing Director Felix Bruder expressed his satisfaction at the opening event, stating, “It’s great to see young people returning to cinemas after the pandemic. With an enticing film program, our aim is not only language education but also to make cinemas a vibrant space for younger audiences.”
